An important distinction has been achieved by the largest island of the Cyclades as one of the best destinations for gastronomy in Greece, according to the British National Geographic Traveller. In the frame of the program organized by the UK GNTO and the Municipality of Naxos and Small Cyclades, this top magazine ranks Naxos second in a list of 9 islands, mentioning that “the largest and greenest of the Cyclades islands, Naxos, has always been self-sufficient regarding its cuisine. Thanks to its fertile ground, the island is famous for its fruit, olive oil, wine, thyme honey, as well as various type of cheese, such as gruyere, kopanisti and arseniko”. This destination’s appeal to international media will be followed-up after the planned press trip by the newspaper The Sun, which reaches millions of travelers.
