The well-sheltered, pretty little harbor of Ai Giorgis Voridis on Naxos island, named after the chapel of Agios Georgios, lies about 2.5km from Messi village, in the northeastern part of Naxos, and is ideal for swimming and fishing. Seals are said to occasionally make their appearance at the rocks around it. According to the locals, the huge cave located to the right was a hideout for the Greek submarine Papanikolis which operated in the Aegaen Sea during the German occupation of World War II.
