The imposing Catholic Episcopal Palace of Naxos –residence of the Archbishop- lies right behind the Catholic cathedral in the Kastro citadel.
It is also known as the Episcopal Chancellery and, since the 16th century, has also been the seat of the Episcopal Chancellors –the notaries that would draft private official documents concerning dowries, wills and various contacts.
