Speires is a new traditional structure cyclades style, situated at the small village Agios Georgios (St George) in Iraklia of the Small Cyclades. It is built in an amphitheatric way with a beautiful view to the Aegean Sea, and combines a high standard of hospitality with the natural environment of the island,thus offering the visitor tranquility, relaxation and quality holidays. Iraklia is an ideal place for relaxing, swimming, diving and climbing on mountain tops with great view. On Iraklia you can visit the Agios Ioannis (St John’s) cave, one of the largest cave in the Cyclades, with very rich and impressive decoration of stalactites that includes “stalagmite milk”, a very rare stalagmitic content in waterish condition. The cave is located on a prominent place with a panoramic view to the sea, about half an hour walking distance from Agios Georgios village. A visitor can also explore the island and discover Iraklias’ speires, which are spiral carvings on rocks discovered in various places around the island around 1960 and date back to the 3rd millennium B.C.
